Mildew
is the ugly kind of mould. The American spelling
is "mold". Mould is found outdoors
everywhere in the world. You can introduce it into
the home just by walking in and out e.g. driveways and paths
with algae and mildew growing on them. They spore
like ferns and multiply very quickly. Inhaling the
spores of mould (mildew) can lead to serious
allergy. The symptoms are:
runny
nose,
itchy
eyes,
wheezing,
skin
rashes,
allergic
fungal sinusitis
and
even recurring diarrhoea
If
you think that you're getting rid of mildew in shower and
bathroom areas by scrubbing, think again! What you
are doing is helping to release the spores and helping to
create an even greater infestation. Washing
with bleach doesn't kill anything either. Bleach
is exactly what the word means and you simply change the
colour, making it look better but it's still there!
